Rice Krispies Treats are a classic and delicious treat, openly loved by kids and secretly treasured by adults. These Black and White version will make everyone happy, like Chocolate and Vanilla ice cream.
Rice krispies (or Crispy, I think there’s a huge debate around the name) were so popular when I was a kid. It can be considered as a perfect birthday cake, which doesn’t require any baking and everybody will enjoy. It’s so easy and quick, it’s probably the first ever cake I made myself as a kid.
I believe the chocolate-mars bars version is the most common. My mind blew up when I realized you could get a white version, by using marshmallows instead of the chocolate bars. And the result was AMAZING. Crunchy, thick and chewy!
Let’s be honest: it’s not easy to get the perfect Rice Krispies Treat texture. Everyone has had that “too hard” krispie treat. The one that scratches the roof of your mouth and leaves you with pieces in between your teeth and a scraped upper palate for days. Not a fan. The too-soft krispie treat in not cool as well, chewy and boring. This recipe has the PERFECT, right proportions, to get the flawless rice krispie treats. You won’t stop eating them.
This recipe is pretty simple and basic, but you could definitely add any other cereal, extra candy or chocolate or any topping and spice. I suggest you to try some peanut butter on top of the chocolate treats, or some almonds in the white ones.
“Based on how much my body cracks and pops when I work out, I’m pretty sure I’m about 74% Rice Krispies.”
